2nd Annual Classical Guitar Immersion ’07

with

Scott Kritzer, Classical Guitarist

June 17th- June 23rd, 2007

Lewis & Clark College

Portland, Oregon

Gone are the days of the long master classes. During the 70’s one week, more frequently two week classes were taught by the greatest teachers of the day,  These long, intensive classes, where you could brush up, maybe even perform for, some of the greatest players of the day, have given way to short one or two day workshops. A player comes into town, plays a concert and the following afternoon gives a class - a hand shake and a kiss on the cheek if you’re lucky.

The Classical Guitar Immersion event is designed to bring back this intensive six day learning experience to serious adult classical guitarists. This is not just ANOTHER classical guitar festival or event. Led by one of America’s premiere classical guitar teachers and performer, CGI is a synergistic learning experience, built on developing technical foundation, performance skills and friendships to last a lifetime.  Master Classes geared towards a final student performance, Lectures, and guest Performances make this an all encompassing event. Last year’s sold-out event drew participants from all over the United States. Visit the 1st Annual CGI Review Page here: CGI ‘06 and be sure to register early.

.

Mr. Kritzer’s consummate commitment to technical excellence as the solid structure beneath an unparalleled sense of musicality has since brought him over a decade of accolades from audiences and critics alike, in concert halls in San Francisco, Frankfurt, Vancouver, B.C., Los Angeles, Sapporo, Japan, Washington, D.C., Munich, and New York. He has been featured in Japan’s Guitar Magazine, London’s Classical Guitar and Guitar International as well as in America’s Soundboard and Guitar Player magazines. He has debuted to critical acclaim in London’s Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, performing on series that have included such notables as Itzhak Perlman, Ivo Pogorelic, Cecelia Bartoli and the Emerson and KRONOS String Quartets.

In addition to his performing career, Mr. Kritzer is a highly sought after instructor of the classical guitar. His popular method is taught to both local students through private and informal workshops as well as to students from all parts of the United States, China, England, Norway, Dubai, and Ireland through an innovative internet format. His students have won regional, national and international guitar competitions and have gone on to attend such notable institutions as The Julliard School, The Royal Conservatory of Music, and his alma mater, The San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
